Thanksgiving Time/IM BACK!

Alicia Rivera woke up to a text from Josh.

“Happy Thanksgiving! I’m thankful for having the most beautiful girlfriend in the world.”

She replied and set her iPhone down on her nightstand. She stumbled over to her closet and put on her Ralph Lauren bathrobe. She searched for the matching slippers. When she couldn’t’ find them she opted for a pair of fuzzy socks her mom had thrown into her stocking the previous Christmas. She walked down the long staircase and said hello to the passing interior decorators and chefs. The Rivera household was always crazy during holidays. In about 3 hours the estate was going to be filled with Alicia’s family and closest friends. She passed her mother carrying a giant pot of flowers.

“Good morning, darling! There’s coffee and gingerbread cookies on counter. Help yourself.”

“Thanks, I will.”

 Alicia was glad her family was mixing holidays. Christmas was her favorite. She shuffled through the dinning room and made her way to the kitchen. She scanned the counter tops for her breakfast.

“Near the oven.” Jim, her favorite chef smiled and pointed to the plate.

Alicia picked up the steaming cup of coffee and took a sip. The mug warmed her hands. She carefully took a cookie and dipped it into the coffee. She took a bite.

“How is it?” Jim asked.

“It’s perfect.” Alicia opened the cupboard  and took out a plate. She placed her half eaten cookie on it and grabbed her snowman mug. She made her way back up to her room dodging all the workers in the process. Once she reached her room she sank into her white leather couch and flipped through this months issue of Vogue. She checked the time and went over to her closet. She opened the doors to find her mannequin dressed in a gorgeous red dress she had someone make in honor of tonight. Underneath was a pair of nude pumps and a black, Rebecca Minkoff purse. She slipped everything on and filled her purse with all of the essentials. She went to her bathroom and brushed her teeth. She heard her mom come over the intercom in her room.

“Alicia, the makeup and hair stylist is here.”

“Send her up.” Alicia let go of the button.

Alicia was thankful that she had decided to get her nails and toes done the day before. There would have been no time today. She heard a knock on her door and went to let the stylist in. For the next hour she was going to be pampered; as always.

The rest of the night consisted of eating, laughing and catching up with old friends.
